The San Diego Chargers will try to bounce back from a sucker punch loss to the Kansas City Chiefs when they host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers, are the league's last remaining undefeated squad.
Monday night was an absolute disaster for the San Diego Chargers, the "worst day ever" as ESPN cameras caught Philip Rivers mouthing on the sideline following a fumble snapped late in the fourth quarter. San Diego hopes it doesn't turn into the worst week ever with the Green Bay Packers coming to town.
The undefeated Packers are hardly an ideal bounce-back opponent. Stretching into last season, Green Bay has won its last sixteen games and Aaron Rodgers is the biggest reason why. He is on pace for what could be one of the best seasons ever by an NFL quarterback, completing 71.5 percent of his passes for a 125.7 passer rating, both of which would be all-time league records if they hold through the second half of the season.
The Chargers will be battling injury problems on top of shaken confidences. Neither running back Ryan Mathews nor wide receiver Malcom Floyd participated in practice this week, hampering an offense that will need to be operating at peak performance to keep up with one of the best in the NFL. With everything seemingly stacked against the Chargers, how they respond could determine whether they are finally worthy of their yearly Super Bowl hype.
