Rian Lindell Injury Update: Bills Kicker Likely Out For Sunday

Buffalo Bills kicker Rian Lindell is suffering from a shoulder injury and head coach Chan Gailey thinks the team might need to bring in another kicker for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Lindell suffered the injury while making a tackle in kickoff coverage and it is apparently "bad." There is no additional word yet on the length of time Lindell might be out, if he is indeed out at all.

Kickers are often easily forgotten in the world of fantasy football, but in 2011 Rian Lindell has become a solid option week in and week out thanks to the impressive Bills offense. The team is getting into the red zone with some regularity, which provides him with more scoring opportunities.

At the same time, you do not want to take a zero at the position, so if you have to drop Lindell, it is not the end of the world. There are a few dominant kickers, but for the most part it is fairly easy to find a decent replacement. In considering kickers to add, look for teams that struggle in the red zone and generally struggle on offense. That's not exactly rocket science, but it is fairly easy to figure out who can help you on the waiver wire.

Steve Johnson Fantasy Stats: Bills Wide Receiver Held Out Of End Zone Once Again

Stevie Johnson has been kind of quiet, at least as far as fantasy statistics are concerned, since a solid three-week start to the Buffalo Bills season. The wide receiver was unable to find the end zone once again on Sunday, unfortunately, as he hauled in three receptions for 84 yards in the loss to the New York Jets.

Johnson had 439 receiving yard on the season with 4 receiving touchdowns entering Week 9. Johnson was averaging 63 yards receiving per game. Johnson's receiving yards per game were down nearly 5 yards per game from last season.

Johnson was ranked as the 31st ranked wide receiver according to Yahoo! heading into his match up with the New York Jets who rank 7th against the pass, giving up 197 passing yards per game.

Plaxico Burress Fantasy Stats: Jets Win Despite Just 20 Passing Completions

Plaxico Burress was the New York Jets top receiver on Sunday, but that fact isn't as impressive as it might sound to his fantasy owners considering Mark Sanchez threw just one touchdown on 28 passing attempts. Burress was targeted five times, the most of any Jets receiver, resulting in five receptions for 79 yards -- though he was unfortunately held out of the end zone as two of the team's touchdowns came from just one-yard out.

Burress had 243 receiving yard on the season with 5 receiving touchdowns entering Week 9. Burress was averaging 35 yards receiving per game.

Burress was ranked as the 35th ranked wide receiver according to Yahoo! heading into his match up with the Buffalo Bills who rank 24th against the pass, giving up 266 passing yards per game.

VIDEO: Mark Sanchez And The Best Holding Call Ever

Mark Sanchez will probably never live this down. With the New York Jets in the wildcat, Sanchez lined up at wide receiver on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. It just wasn't a good idea. Not only did Sanchez get called for holding, he was on the wrong end of one of the more hilarious incidents you'll see.

Buffalo was in press, and all it took to get Sanchez to move was the corner faking a jam. The corner acted like he was going to hit Sanchez off the line, the Jets' quarterback flinched and backed off before finally lurching into action. Words can't quite describe this, so here's video.

Told you it was awesome. Guessing this one will be replayed on blooper reels for quite some time.

NFL Scores Week 9, Jets Vs. Bills: Mark Sanchez, Defense Propel New York In 27-11 Win

The Jets clamped down on the Bills, and could be tied for the AFC East lead by the end of Week 9.

Fred Jackson Returns For The Bills

Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson has returned to action for the Bills. Jackson left in the third quarter with a stinger, according to reports. His return was questionable at the time.

The Bills will be glad to have Jackson back in the mix. At the start of the fourth quarter, they are trying to overcome a 20-3 deficit to the New York Jets.

Plaxico Burress Status Update: Jets WR Will Play Against Bills

Rich Eisen just said it on NFL Network, so it must be true: the New York Jets' wide receiver Plaxico Burress will play in Week 9 on the road against the Buffalo Bills. Burress had been struggling with a back injury all week, and was listed as questionable entering Sunday.

This is obviously huge for fantasy teams, as it hasn't been an easy week for wide receiver injuries. Despite complaints about his ineffectiveness, Burress has caught five touchdown passes in seven games for the Jets, good for fourth in the league. As with any sport, it takes weeks to shake off the rust that comes with a long (say, two-year) layoff, and Burress figures to only be a bigger factor as the season wears on.

Donald Jones Probable With Ankle Injury

After missing the last two weeks with an ankle injury, Buffalo Bills starting wide receiver Donald Jones is listed as "Probable" on the team's official injury report and is expected to play against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Prior to his injury, the Bills' No. 2 receiver opposite Steve Johnson had 16 receptions for 174 yards and one touchdown in five games this season, including a five-catch, 101-yard performance at Ralph Wilson Stadium in the Bills' upset win over the New England Patriots in Week 3.

Undrafted out of Youngstown State in 2010, Jones is two receptions, 39 yards and a touchdown away from surpassing his rookie receiving totals.

Jones opened the week as a limited participant on the team's practice report, but participated fully in both Thursday and Friday's practices and appears on track to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Jets. The 5-2 Bills will need to win to keep ahead of the New England Patriots at the top of the AFC East standings.
