Bears Vs. Eagles: LeSean McCoy's 33-Yard TD Gives Philly 24-17 Lead

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Trent Colt forced a Matt Forte fumble, giving the ball right back to the Eagles. This was Forte's second fumble, both of which led to Eagles touchdowns. On the first play of the Eagles ensuing drive, it looked like quarterback Michael Vick was going to be sacked right away on first down, but Vick did what Vick does. He rolled to his left, spun and doubled back to his right coming across the field and picking up 8-yards when Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers finally brought him down.

On the very next play, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy took it to the house. McCoy ran the ball off the right side, making a jump cut to avoid a bears defender, then just hit the jets and scampered 33 yards for the touchdown, putting the Eagles up over the Bears, 24-17.

Bears Vs. Eagles Score Update: LeSean McCoy Cannot Be Stopped

The Eagles opened the second half with a convincing touchdown drive to tie the score at 17-17 against the Bears on Monday Night Football. Ronnie Brown punched the ball into the end zone from four yards out to cap an 80-yard drive that ate up almost seven minutes.

It was another running back, LeSean McCoy, who did the heavy lifting on the drive on the ground and catching passes out of the backfield. McCoy has 75 all-purpose yards so far (which somehow doesn't seem like nearly enough given his impact on the game).

Most impressively, McCoy did this to Brian Urlacher: Mccoy_medium

Oh good lord. That shouldn't be physically possible.

The Eagles have needed McCoy to spark the offense so far tonight. Michael Vick has completed just 50 percent of his first 24 passes for less than 150 yards and one pick (no touchdowns).

VIDEO: Marcus Thomas Has A False Start Celebration Dance

I've seen sack dances before. I've seen some amazing, choreographed sack dances. They're almost always funny and most put defensive lineman -- under-appreciated big men -- the spotlight for a moment. And when those big men get the spotlight, it's a sight to behold.

But on Sunday, we saw something different. Yes, it was a celebration and a kind of dance, but it wasn't because of a sack. Denver Broncos defensive lineman Marcus Thomas celebrated a ... wait for it ... false start.

via urnfndbag

I mean, he probably gets an A for effort here, but was it necessary to prance around celebrating a false start? He didn't do anything other than point and yell. It had no bearing on the false start itself.

But I'm sure glad he did it.

VIDEO: Mark Sanchez And The Best Holding Call Ever

Mark Sanchez will probably never live this down. With the New York Jets in the wildcat, Sanchez lined up at wide receiver on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. It just wasn't a good idea. Not only did Sanchez get called for holding, he was on the wrong end of one of the more hilarious incidents you'll see.

Buffalo was in press, and all it took to get Sanchez to move was the corner faking a jam. The corner acted like he was going to hit Sanchez off the line, the Jets' quarterback flinched and backed off before finally lurching into action. Words can't quite describe this, so here's video.

Told you it was awesome. Guessing this one will be replayed on blooper reels for quite some time.

VIDEO: Patrick Peterson Scores Overtime Game-Winning 99-Yard Punt Return Touchdown

No, that headline is not a typo. In overtime of the NFC West matchup between the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals, rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson fielded a punt on the one yard line. He then proceeded to take that punt 99 yards to the house for the Cardinals, ending the sudden death game with a great return for a touchdown. I'm not sure if Ken Wisenhunt is going to be elated or absolutely furious with his rookie star. Who fields a punt on the one yard line? Kids, don't try this at home.

Because the San Fransisco 49ers keep winning games, this probably isn't terribly relevant, but Arizona have another win! Winning is good!

VIDEO: Jake Ballard TD Gives Giants The Win

The New York Giants beat the New England Patriots today, in a rematch of the infamous Super Bowl game  that ended the Patriots' hopes for a completely undefeated season. This time, tight end Jake Ballard scored a last minute touchdown to give the Giants a 24-20 win over Tom Brady and the Patriots. Quarterback Eli Manning connected with Ballard on a diving catch from one yard out for the game winner. Check out the video of Ballard's touchdown right here.

That was Ballard's fourth catch of the game, and it put the Giants at a surprising 6-2 for a lead in the NFC East.

Ballard finished the game with four catches for 67 yards and one touchdown. Eli Manning threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the game, and he was intercepted once. Running back Brandon Jacobs added a touchdown to the final tally.

Tom Brady finished the game with 342 yards passing, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

VIDEO: Onside Kick, Vincent Jackson Touchdown Cuts Packers Lead

After scoring a touchdown to cut the Green Bay Packers' lead down to a two touchdowns, the San Diego Chargers recovered an onside kick with a little more than seven minutes remaining. They recovered the ball on their own 45-yard line. On the following drive, Phillip Rivers connected with Vincent Jackson for a 29-yard touchdown pass that cut the Packers' lead to just a single touchdown.

Here is a video of the onside kick that San Diego managed to recover at a critical time.

Three plays and two consecutive first downs later, Rivers hit Jackson deep on the right side of the field for a 29-yard touchdown pass. It was Jackson's third touchdown of the game. He has seven catches for 141 yards to go with those three touchdowns.

With more than two minutes left to play, San Diego needs a touchdown to tie the game and beat the undefeated Packers, something that would be one of the bigger upsets of the season.

Update

VIDEO: Eddie Royal Scores 85-Yard Punt Return TD For Broncos

The Denver Broncos are currently in the process of pulling away from the Oakland Raiders and creating a giant cluster of teams within one game of each other in the AFC West. This is in no small part due to Eddie Royal, who did an awesome job taking the pressure off Tim Tebow to lead the Broncos down the field with this fantastic 85-yard punt return touchdown. The Oakland Raiders weren't exactly great in punt coverage here, but who cares?!? Punt return touchdowns are awesome, don't complain.

Denver went up 31-24 on this one, and Willis McGahee scored another touchdown shortly afterwards. The Oakland Raiders are going to need a miracle to come back in this one.

VIDEO: Denver RB Willis McGahee 60-Yard Touchdown

Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris intercepted Carson Palmer at the end of the third quarter to set up a game-tying touchdown from the Broncos' offense. After returning the pick for 15 yards, Denver had the ball on their own 40-yard line. On the second play of the ensuing drive, running back Willis McGahee broke through the middle for a 60-yard touchdown run. Check out the video of the play:

McGahee's touchdown knotted the score at 24 points apiece. It also made McGahee the Broncos' leading rusher in the game, for now. He has 119 yards on 17 carries halfway through the fourth quarter.

This is the fourth game this season  that McGahee has topped the 100-yard mark for rushing, including a week 2 win over the Bengals.

Quarterback Tim Tebow is close to topping the 100-yard mark himself. He has 91 yards on 10 carries with approximately eight minutes left to play. Denver would really like to get a win over a division rival.

Update

VIDEO: Jacoby Ford Scores Filthy, Disgusting TD For Raiders

Who would have known that with Tim Tebow and Carson Palmer as opposing quarterbacks, a fun football game might break out? The Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos are playing one of the most fun games of the week so far, highlighted by this fantastic touchdown catch by Jacoby Ford. The throw by Palmer is very good and the pass defense by the Broncos is not the best, but there's no taking anything away from Ford here. This is a brilliant grab.

The athleticism and composure it takes for Ford to get two feet down in bounds on this play is absolutely nuts. The Raiders currently lead the Broncos by a score of 24-14 in the third quarter.

VIDEO: Rams Safeties Add To Lead

The St. Louis Rams offense has been able to move the ball today against the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, they have not been able to put the ball into the end zone. The Rams' defense on the other hand, is having no problem finding the end zone. The defensive line has sacked Cardinals quarterback John Skelton TWICE in the end zone for two safeties in the third quarter, giving the Rams a 13-6 lead in the third quarter.

Check out the video of each safety. First, here's James Hall's:

And here is C.J. Ah You's safety just a few minutes later:

Unfortunately for Ah You, the officials took away the sack, ruling it intentional grounding on Skelton. The Rams still get the safety, but nothing else in the stat sheet.

Through three quarters of play, neither team has actually scored a touchdown, despite combining for 415 yards of offense. A combine 11 penalties isn't helping the speed of a game between two team battling their way out of the NFC West cellar.

ANIMATED: Brandon Jacobs Celebrates In Confusing Fashion

I'm not saying Brandon Jacobs was lying about the "fast-ass car" he was delivered on Tuesday, but he seems too good at the pull-start motion. We sure Jacobs didn't have a supped-up lawnmower delivered?

Jacobs_medium

I ... I just don't even know what this celebration is. Is he hitting himself in the face? Is he just gyrating around for the heck of it? What in the world is this?

And just for good measure ... reeeeeeemix

Update

VIDEO: Carson Palmer Is Making Throws Again

After Carson Palmer was thrown into the fire in his first appearance as an Oakland Raider, it appears he's shaken the rust. Palmer was almost destined for failure two weeks ago, going from the couch to the huddle after a trade sent him from Cincinnati to Oakland. Three interceptions later, his day mercifully ended.

But coming out of a bye and spending more time getting a feel for the offense seems to have done Palmer some good. Facing the Broncos on Sunday, Palmer is throwing more like the Palmer of old, as illustrated by the following touchdown pass.

This looks like the Palmer of old. He calmly stepped up in the pocket and delivered a strike to Marcel Reece for 40 yards and the score.

Update

VIDEO: Broncos' Britton Colquitt Gives Us Punter Fail Of The Week

The Denver Broncos are trailing the Oakland Raiders by a score of 10-7 in the second quarter, but the Raiders were more or less gifted their touchdown. Tim Tebow's been surprisingly great to start the game, but he's not getting a whole lot of help from his punter. Below is video of Broncos punter Britton Colquitt fumbling a snap, then throwing a wild, flailing pass. It's as awesome as it sounds.

In the future, John Fox would probably prefer that his punter simply eats the ball and takes the safety in similar situations. The dropped snap is pretty bad, but the flailing incompletion that gave the Raiders the ball in the red zone is probably even better. This set up a short Carson Palmer touchdown pass to Michael Bush, giving the Raiders a three-point lead.

Update

VIDEO: Philip Rivers With A Second Pick Six

Phillip Rivers giveth. Philip Rivers taketh away. After throwing an early touchdown to Vincent Jackson, Rivers promptly tossed a pair of interceptions that were returned for touchdowns to put the San Diego Chargers in a 21-7 hole.

The Chargers have no come back to make it 21-14. Yes, it looks like it's going to be that kind of game.

Update

VIDEO: Tim Tebow Follows 32-Yard Run With 27-Yard TD Pass

Don't look now haters, but Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is having a good game. Granted it is still quite early, but he just led  a scoring drive to give the Broncos a 7-3 lead over the Oakland Raiders. The highlight of the drive had to be Tebow's 32-run around the left end. Check out the video of his breakaway after you finish Tebowing.

Three plays later, Tebow hit wide receiver Eric Decker for a 27-yard touchdown that gave the Broncos the lead.

Tebow has connected on three of four passes for 38 yards and a touchdown. Few would have guessed that the second-year quarterback would be having a better game than Carson Palmer, who is just two-for-eight.

The Denver quarterback also has three rushing attempts for 39 yards in this game. This is his third start of the season, after taking over for Kyle Orton in week 5. Prior to this game, Tebow was 35 for 76 with four touchdowns and one interception. He had 26 rushing attempts for 159 yards and one touchdown.

Update

VIDEO: Sam Bradford Picked Off On Flea-Flicker

One of these days, quarterbacks are going to learn that just because the coach calls a trick play, they don't have to throw it deep. Sam Bradford once again showed us why damning the torpedoes is not such a hot idea. The St. Louis Rams quarterback basically threw a ball up for grabs on a flea-flicker and it was, predictably, intercepted.

The annoying part of it was Bradford was under zero pressure and his man wasn't open. In fact, he didn't even have total single coverage, as another defensive back was still underneath the throw. Live and learn maybe.

Update

VIDEO: Vincent Jackson Has Chargers Off To Strong Start

Vincent Jackson has the San Diego Chargers off to a strong start against the Green Bay Packers. The wide receiver already has three catches for 57 yards, including this 23-yard touchdown.

Jackson now has four touchdowns this year and is over 500 yards for the season. Jackson has so far accounted for all of quarterback Phillip Rivers' passing yards.

ANIMATED: LeGarrette Blount "Punch" Finds Will Smith's Face

Prepare yourself to hear a bunch of "LeGarrette Blount punch" jokes. The Tampa Bay running back shoved New Orleans defensive lineman Will Smith in the face during the second half the Saints vs. Bucs matchup on Sunday afternoon.

Have a look:

LeGarrette Blount Punch

You see, it's more of an open-palmed shove than a punch. It's football. These things happen. Not a *huge* deal.

Of course, Blount is perhaps known as much for the punch he threw on the football field while at Oregon during a game against Boise State back in 2009 as he is for running with a football. That incident ended his season and probably led to him going undrafted in the 2010 NFL draft.

That means people are going to talk about Blount punching people on a football field! This is why Twitter was invented.

As Mocksesion's Tim Burke points out, Blount's coach Raheem Morris does not seem pleased. What do you think? Is this a big deal or no? Tell us in the comments.

Update

VIDEO: Brandon Marshall Catches 2nd TD Of Season

Brandon Marshall has been piling up yardage at a decent clip, especially considering how bad the Miami Dolphins offense is, but the wide receiver has not been finding the end zone much. On Sunday, he finally scored his second touchdown of the season, a nice catch in the corner of the end zone. It was Matt Moore's third touchdown throw of the afternoon. Marshall now has five catches for 75 yards in the game.

Original Story

VIDEO: Cowboys' Dez Bryant Fumbles At 1

Dez Bryan is quickly gaining a reputation as a bit of a diva, which is nothing new for a NFL wide receiver. Of course, there's a certain amount of production expected to come along with that attitude, and Bryan is doing himself no favors. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver made a nice catch to get the ball to the 1-yard line, but then fumbled on a hit by Richard Sherman and picked up by Roy Lewis.

VIDEO: Julio Jones Touchdown Catches Will Make You Believe

The Falcons gave up five (FIVE!) draft picks to move up and grab Julio Jones in the 2011 NFL Draft. That's a hefty sum for any one player, but when Jones performs like he has so far today, well, Atlanta doesn't seem *quite* as crazy.

Jones has been a home run threat against the Colts defense with two catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns so far on Sunday. His first touchdown went for 50 yards. The encore went for 80.

Words don't do these TDs justice. Here are some moving pictures:

This catch was originally ruled incomplete, but the Falcons challenged and the call was reversed.

On Jones' second TD catch, he just ran away from the whole Colts defense. Check it out:

So was Julio Jones worth it? Here's a smart take from SB Nation's Andy Hutchins:

I fully believe that Julio Jones was worth two first-round picks. Too bad the Falcons traded three other picks, too.

OK, fine. But those touchdowns ... Oh, those touchdowns.

Dolphins Vs. Chiefs: Miami Takes Rare Lead On Pair Of Anthony Fasano TDs

The Miami Dolphins have had precious few moments to feel good about themselves during their 0-7 start. Anthony Fasano has at least given them a couple today. The Dolphins tight end has caught a pair of touchdowns to give his team a 14-3 lead over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Fasano's second touchdown was especially nice. Quarterback Matt Moore rolled out to his right and then spotted Fasano wide down the left sideline. Moore didn't necessarily make a great throw, but he really didn't have to, as Fasano had to nearly stop in order to make the play.

The throw allowed the defense to close down on on Fasano, who had to fight his way into the end zone for a 35-yard touchdown. Fasano now has two catches for 38 yards, with both catches going for scores.

ANIMATED: We Call This Sandwich The Alex Smith

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith rolled out of the pocket to extend a third-down play in the first quarter against the Redskins. That was a bad choice.

VIDEO: Josh Cribbs 64-Yard Kick Return Helps Get Cleveland Best Field Position Of The Day

Cleveland kick return specialist Josh Cribbs gave Cleveland Browns fans a little something to be excited, despite the team already in a 14-0 hole in the first quarter. Following Houston's second touchdown, Cribbs broke off a 64-yard kick return, as he is wont to do, to give Cleveland their best field position of the day so far. Unfortunately for Cleveland, Cribbs promptly followed his return with a personal foul penalty. Here is a video of Cribbs' return.

Cleveland was able to get on the board thanks in no small part to the field position Cribbs gave them. A field goal cut into Houston's lead, making it a 14-3 game.

That was Cribbs' longest return of the season. Prior to that, his longest was 52-yards this year. This was his third return for more than 40 yards and his 11th return for more than 20 yards. He has not scored a kick return touchdown since 2009.

Update

VIDEO: Ben Tate Scores 27-Yard Touchdown

Houston Texans running back Ben Tate had the first touchdown for week 9 in the NFL. Tate found light in the middle of Houston's offensive line, and ran for a 27-yard touchdown to give Houston a 7-0 lead over the visiting Cleveland Browns.

That was the Texans' first possession of the game. Tate and Arian Foster split carries on the 9-play, 82 yard drive that ate five minutes of clock time. It was Tate's second carry of the game. Foster has three carries on the drive.

Tate had 508 rushing yards heading into this week's game against the Browns. His season includes a 104-yard performance in a blowout over Tennessee in week 7. Tate also saw plenty of work early in the season with Foster dealing with injuries. He even got a start in week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.
