Danny Woodhead Injury: Patriots Running Back Goes Down Hard

Stay connected with SB Nation

New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead was shaken up late in Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants after taking a blow near the end of a play. Woodhead was headed out of bounds when he was folded up awkwardly, and stayed down following the hit. After staying down and being attended to, Woodhead walked off under his own power.

Woodhead has been splitting time with BenJarvus Green-Ellis in the backfield, rushing for 26 yards on seven carries against the Giants. It's unclear what caused Woodhead to stay down, but he appeared to be shaken up on the play, which came as the Patriots were driving late in the fourth quarter, down four to the Giants.
