NFL Scores Week 9, Rams Vs. Cardinals: Patrick Peterson Lifts Arizona In Overtime, 19-13

After Arizona sent its game with St. Louis to overtime, Patrick Peterson made one of the best bad decisions in NFL history on a game-winning return.

The Cardinals blocked a potentially game-winning field goal in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter, then went to overtime with the Rams. Patrick Peterson took care of the rest.

Peterson returned a punt 99 yards for a game-winning touchdown in overtime as the Cardinals beat the Rams, 19-13, in a battle of NFC West cellar-dwellers. Peterson also had an interception in the game.

The Cardinals won despite an anemic offense that produced 262 yards against a pliant Rams defense. John Skelton threw for 222 yards in the victory, but also helped St. Louis make history.

That's because the Rams recorded two safeties in the third quarter. Those were their only points in the frame, making the Rams the only team in NFL history to score just four points in a quarter.

It's probably cold comfort. The win pushes Arizona to 2-6 on the season. St. Louis falls to 1-7 with the loss.
