Rashard Mendenhall has been pretty inconsistent for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and his fantasy owners so far this season, but the running back was solid on Sunday night. Unfortunately for his real team, the decent statistics came in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Mendenhall carried the ball 13 times for 52 yards and a touchdown while adding a three-yard reception as a limited player in Ben Roethlisberger's passing game. It isn't anything amazing, of course, but it could have been worse.
Mendenhall had 421 rushing yards and 48 receiving yard on the season with 3 rushing touchdowns entering Week 9. Mendenhall was averaging 60 yards rushing per game and 7 yards receiving per game. Mendenhall's rushing yards per game were down nearly 20 yards per game from last season.
Mendenhall was ranked as the 20th ranked running back according to Yahoo! heading into his match up with the Baltimore Ravens who rank 3rd against the run, giving up 89 rushing yards per game.
