The Atlanta Falcons received a huge jolt of energy from rookie wide receiver Julio Jones as he caught three passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons 31-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Jones had missed several weeks with a hamstring strain but appears to be over it. He hauled in a 50-yard touchdown reception and followed that up with an 80-yard pass from Matt Ryan.
Although Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez are excellent weapons for Matt Ryan, Julio Jones brings another level of explosiveness to the Falcons offense. The Falcons even mixed him in on the rushing attack with some reverses that netted 33 yards.
The Falcons begin a three game homestand that features games against New Orleans, Tennessee and Minnesota. The Saints can give up some big passing totals on the road, so this could be a chance for another big game from Julio Jones. Roddy White will be in the mix plenty, but look for the Falcons to stretch the field a bit with Jones.
