The Bears opened up Monday Night Football with an impressive touchdown drive against the Eagles. Running back Matt Forte did the heavy lifting for Chicago, and tight end Matt Spaeth caught his second touchdown of the second to give Chicago an early lead by a score of 7-0.
The Eagles had trouble tracking down Forte and tackling him when they did. Forte carried the ball six times for 52 yards on the 79 yard drive. Jay Cutler completed 2 of 4 passes on the drive for 19 yards and the touchdown pass.
Nate Allen came off the field with an injury during the drive and then headed to the locker room. He was replaced in the lineup by Jaiquawn Jarrett, the rookie out of Temple. Whether or not Allen returns, the Eagles will have to defend better to contend in this game.
