Jahvid Best Injury: Lions RB Expected To Miss Week 10

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Detroit Lions will have to deal with another week of running back by committee. Once again, star running back Jahvid Best is expected to sit out, and the Lions will be without him when they face the Chicago Bears in Week 10. Best complained of concussion-like symptoms following the Week 6 game against the San Fransisco 49ers and has not played since.

In Best's absence, the Lions have split carries between Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams. Best is one of three members of the Lions backfield currently unavailable to play, as Jerome Harrison and Mikel Leshoure are both out for the season. The Lions have run the ball well even without Best, averaging better than four yards per carry and racking up 100-plus yards on the ground in both games that he has missed.

Following the Chicago Bears' win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, the Week 10 matchup between the Lions and the Bears is one of the biggest on the NFL schedule. Both teams are currently trailing the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North and should be involved in a tight NFC Wild Card race until the end of the season.
