The Kansas City Chiefs head to MetLife Stadium to fight for the still wide open AFC West against the New York Jets.
The New York Jets are still thick in the playoff hunt after winning two games in a row and can put themselves in the drivers seat for the Wild Card with a win over the Kansas City Chiefs at home. Quarterback Mark Sanchez, who's usually a very hot/cold player, has thrown five touchdown pass in the last two Jets wins. "We're a team that just wants to win and get in the playoffs and see what happens," coach Rex Ryan said. "Our goal is intact, even though it looked really bad a few weeks ago."
Despite their 4-7 record and the turmoil at the quarterback position, the Kansas City Chiefs still have an outside chance to win their division. "We're coming on at the right time," coach Todd Haley said. "If we can figure out a way to win -- pretty, ugly or indifferent -- we have a chance." The Chiefs put in newly signed quarterback Kyle Orton last week for a single play, in which he hurt his hand, and his status is uncertain for the game. The Chiefs defense has shown at times it can make big-time plays in the secondary will hope to take advantage of a Mark Sanchez who's prone to making mistakes with the football. The Chiefs will need to get something out of Tyler Palko at quarterback however if they want to win.
