Tampa Bay Buccaneers Score First Quarter Touchdown For First Time In 2011 NFL Season

Stay connected with SB Nation

Remember when Josh Freeman was leading an up-and-coming Buccaneers team that had a go-to running back in LeGarrette Blount, a bunch of young receivers and a coach on the rise in Raheem Morris? That myth has been dispelled in the 2011 NFL season, as the Bucs have struggled to score all year, especially early.

They finally got their first touchdown in the first quarter of the season this Sunday against the Jaguars, according to the St. Petersburg Times' Rick Stroud, and did it the hard way:

Bucs record their first offensive touchdown in the first quarter this season by going 80-yards, converting on two third downs and 4th-and1

Good news for Tampa Bay: more play like that and the 4-8 Bucs might just get back to .500 on the season! Of course, not every opponent can be the equally moribund Jaguars.
