There hasn't yet been an update as to what, exactly, happened, but New York Jets safety Jim Leonhard was taken to the locker room with what appeared to be a lower-leg injury. Leonhard has been a regular starter in the Jets secondary, making 47 tackles in 12 games this season.
If this is a serious injury, it would be the second straight season in which his season had been cut short. Last year, Leonhard was limited to 11 games after breaking his tibia on Dec. 3.
Leonhard's loss would be a blow to the Jets, who don't have much experience behind him. Tracy Wilson is Leonhard's primary backup at free safety. The 6-foot-2 rookie has played in just one game this season, making one tackle in his first appearance of the season last week against the Washington Redskins.
