The Dallas Cowboys lost a running back when the DeMarco Murray injury happened early on in their first offensive possession following Tony Romo being sacked in the end zone for a safety, but that won't hurt their passing game. Romo found third-year pro John Phillips for a touchdown to take the 7-5 lead.
Romo connected with Phillips on a 12-yard touchdown pass on what amounted to basically being a tight end bubble screen as Phillips had plenty of blockers ready to escort him into the end zone. It was the first touchdown of Phillips' NFL career.
Tony Romo has completed three of his five passing attempts for 30 yards and the above touchdown. It won't make people forget about the safety he took earlier in the game, but that will all change too if Dallas is able to build on their new lead.
