The Detroit Lions take on the Oakland Raiders this weekend, who do the experts think will win?
The Detroit Lions are set to take on the Oakland Raiders this weekend. Both teams are still in the playoff hunt and both need to pick up a win. So, who do the experts think are going to win?
A few experts at ESPN, including Merrill Hoge, like the Raiders to win. The majority however, like the Lions to win.
Peter King of SI.com thinks the Lions pull out a close one:
Detroit Lions (8-5) at Oakland Raiders (7-6)
Tough thing for Oakland? With Darren McFadden, the Raiders win this game. An electric running back can beat Detroit. But I don't see Oakland's defense stopping Matthew Stafford, and I don't see the Raiders controlling the clock enough to win this.
The Sporting News likes the Raiders to pull out the upset:
Detroit Lions at Oakland Raiders, 4:05 p.m. Sunday. There will be Silver and Black and White and Honolulu Blue in this game, but there also should be plenty of yellow-in the form of flags. The Raiders lead the league in penalties, and the Lions, who are fourth in that category, have had noted discipline issues. This will be a tough road game for young Matthew Stafford against a fired-up Oakland pass rush. Offensively, the hosts know they need to get Michael Bush going again to take pressure off Carson Palmer-and that game plan will work. Raiders 20, Lions 17.
