Read More: James Harrison (LB - PIT), Seneca Wallace (QB - CLE), Colt McCoy (QB - CLE), Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals
Colt McCoy has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals due to lingering symptoms from a concussion sustained last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. McCoy was sent home from practice Friday, as he has been all week, failing to get cleared by the Cleveland Browns medical staff. Seneca Wallace will start Sunday for the Browns, and could potentially finish out the season as the team's starter.
McCoy took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Steelers linebacker James Harrison in Week 14 that left the quarterback dazed. The Browns staff failed to diagnose any signs of concussion at the time, and sent McCoy to finish out the game under center. After the game, McCoy's father Brad said that his son told him that he had no recollection of the fourth quarter interception he threw to effectively end the Browns' comeback chances.
The news puts an even bigger damper on what has been yet another disappointing season for Cleveland. They will play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16, followed by a rematch with the Steelers to close out the season. Wallace started four games for the Browns in 2010 and played well, completing 63.4 percent of his passes for 694 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
