It's been a pretty rough week for former Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd. On Thursday, Hurd was arrested for allegedly attempting to buy a massive amount of drugs, including a half ton of marijuana, to then distribute in the Chicago area. Predictably, the Bears cut him loose on Friday, but that hasn't stopped him from hoping to catch on elsewhere.
And no, that doesn't mean next year, in hopes this all blows over. Hurd reportedly wants to play right now and hopes another team will snatch him up quickly.

Seems a tad bit optimistic, considering the circumstances. Even if he does end up beating the charge, for whatever reason, Hurd is damaged goods, and a charge such as the one he's facing tends to linger around for a while.
