It's been a pretty rough week for former Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd. On Thursday, Hurd was arrested for allegedly attempting to buy a massive amount of drugs, including a half ton of marijuana, to then distribute in the Chicago area. Predictably, the Bears cut him loose on Friday, but that hasn't stopped him from hoping to catch on elsewhere.↵
And no, that doesn't mean next year, in hopes this all blows over. Hurd reportedly wants to play right now and hopes another team will snatch him up quickly.
Seems a tad bit optimistic, considering the circumstances. Even if he does end up beating the charge, for whatever reason, Hurd is damaged goods, and a charge such as the one he's facing tends to linger around for a while.↵
