The Cincinnati Bengals got an early break from the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. On third and seven, Andy Dalton threw a deep incompletion to receiver A.J. Green, who stopped running his route as though there was some definite miscommunication, but the Rams were called for roughing the passer, so instead of being forced to punt, the Bengals picked up fifteen yards.
Naturally, Cincinnati took advantage of this following a short five-yard rush by Cedric Benson. Dalton went deep to A.J. Green down the right sideline for 55 yards, bringing them to the two yard-line. After a rush for no yardage, Dalton threw two high incompletions to Green in the end zone, so they were forced to kick a field goal. Mike Nugent came out and kicked the 21-yarder without issue and they took the early 3-0 lead.
