VIDEO: Johnny Knox Injured, Taken To Hospital Following Hit

Stay connected with SB Nation

Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox suffered a head and neck injury in the first quarter of a game against the Seattle Seahawks. Knox had a head-on collision with a Seattle defender that bent him backwards. After lying on the field in front of a stunned, silent crowd at Soldier Field, he was carted off on a stretcher. He was able to move his hands as he was carted off, but it's too early to determine the extent of his injury.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that Knox has a mid back injury and is being taken to a hospital for further evaluation. He will not return to the game.

Quarterback Caleb Hanie completed a 17- yard pass to Knox who fumbled when he was hit by Seahawks rookie safety Kam Chancellor. As he dove for the ball, Seattle defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove collided with Knox, bending his head and neck backwards, in one of the more horrific looking injuries seen on the field this season.

Seattle scored a touchdown on the possession that resulted from the fumble.
