Through nearly two quarters of play in the Week 15 matchup between the Washington Redskins and the hometown New York Giants, the game has been decidedly lopsided in favor of the underdog visitors the Redskins. They are currently holding onto a 17-0 lead despite some early interceptions from Washington quarterback Rex Grossman.
At the beginning of the second quarter, the Giants lined up for a shotgun play. Quarterback Eli Manning launched a pass deep right intended for D.J. Ware that was deflected and intercepted by Oshiomogho Atogwe.
As a result of the interception, the Redskins had great field position and began a nine-play, 41-yard scoring drive that ended with a Darrel Young nine-yard touchdown run to put the Redskins up by a score of 17-0. Young has 12 yards on three carries.
