Arrowhead Stadium has been a little less boisterous than usual this season as the Kansas City Chiefs have struggled. As the home team headed into the locker room at half time, the home crowd was in a frenzy. The reason? The Chiefs lead the undefeated Green Bay Packers by a score of 6-0 at the half.
Kansas City is playing its first game under interim head coach Romeo Crennel. Former head coach Todd Haley was fired on Monday, after an ugly loss to the New York Jets. Even the worst teams have been known to pull off a big upset after an embattled head coach lost his job, and the Chiefs want to continue that trend today.
Kyle Orton is making his first start sine being acquired by the Chiefs. Kansas City’s offense has 210 total yards, versus just 89 for the Packers. With a 20:32 versus 9:27 advantage in time of possession, the Chiefs have been able to limit the damage Aaron Rodgers is capable of doing in a game.
The Chiefs have struggled to find the end zone, and that could present a problem if the Packers offense gets back on track in the second half. Either way, it looks like fans in Kansas City are getting their money’s worth today.
