The Carolina Panthers got a rare win in Week 15, rising up to surprise the AFC South champion Houston Texans.

Cam Newton's Carolina Panthers haven't had many wins in 2011. But they got a good one against the Houston Texans in Week 15 with a bit of chicanery.

Richie Brockel scored his first NFL touchdown on a fumblerooski in the second quarter to give the Panthers a commanding 21-0 lead over Houston, and the Panthers' often porous defense forced three turnovers to short-circuit the Texans in a 28-13 win.

Cam Newton threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 55 yards in the win; DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart combined for 104 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

T.J. Yates struggled in his third start since replacing Matt Leinart, throwing for 212 yards and two interceptions. Arian Foster had 109 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and added five catches for 58 yards out of the backfield.

With the win, Carolina improves to 5-9 in 2011, while the Texans, already the AFC South champions, lost a bit of ground in the race for a first round bye in the AFC playoffs.
