Oakland Raiders wide receiver Darius Heyward-Bey gave his team a 14-7 lead over the Detroit Lions with a 43-yard touchdown from Carson Palmer in the second quarter. DHB, as the kids call him, capped off a six-play, 94-yard scoring drive for the Raiders. Check out the video of his touchdown catch right here.
That was Heyward-Bey’s third catch of the day. He leads his team with 83 receiving yards so far. Palmer is 10 for 12 with 155 yards and his lone touchdown pass, seen above.
Heyward-Bey had two touchdowns prior to this game. He had 43 catches for 620 yards heading into this week’s game. It was already his best season since being drafted in the first-round of the 2009 NFL Draft, a move that drew the usual criticism of the late Al Davis who prized speed above all else in his draft picks.
Oakland is battling for the AFC West title, entering this week’s game one game behind the Denver Broncos in the standings.
