VIDEO: Ndamukong Suh Blocks Field Goal, Sebastian Janikowski's NFL Record Attempt

Stay connected with SB Nation

After blowing a 27-14 lead to the Detroit Lions with only 7:47 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Oakland Raiders were able to get themselves in position for a game-winning 65-yard field goal from their kicker Sebastian Janikowski, which would have been an NFL record.

But Lions DT Ndamukong Suh, in his first game back after a two-week suspension, came through for his team, powering through the line of scrimmage and blocking Janikowski's kick:

Suh, after a rough two weeks under the national media microscope, threw his helmet off in celebration.

With yet another dramatic double-digit comeback, the Lions moved to 9-5 and kept pace with the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC's wild-card race. They now have a two-game lead on the 7-7 Chicago Bears and New York Giants, as each team lost Sunday.

The blown fourth-quarter lead may haunt the Oakland Raiders, who have now dropped three straight games. At 7-7, they are one game behind the Denver Broncos in the AFC West playoff race.
