The Houston Texans will once again be without Andre Johnson who continues to recover from a hamstring injury. Johnson suffered the injury in Week 12 and has been out since. The Texans have clinched the AFC South title so it seems to make sense to give Johnson as much time as he needs to recover so that he's ready for the playoffs.
The Texans play the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night so they're working on a very short week.
Head coach Gary Kubiak said what he's been saying for the last few weeks -- Johnson is getting closer but he's not quite there yet.
This has been Johnson's most disappointing season since he's been in the league. He missed Week 5-10 due to a hamstring injury and he returned for a couple of weeks before tweaking the other hamstring. He's played in just six games this year.
Johnson said last week that he hopes to return before the playoffs, which means a Week 17 appearance is possible.
