The Detroit Lions can clinch a spot in the NFC Playoffs with a win or tie on Saturday.

The Detroit Lions can clinch a spot in the NFC Playoffs while the San Diego Chargers will be trying to keep their AFC Playoffs hopes alive when they meet at Ford Field on Saturday afternoon.

Detroit can clinch their first playoff appearance since 1999 with a win or a tie against the Chargers, but could also get in with losses or ties by the Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys, or with losses or ties by the Bears, Cardinals, Seahawks and Giants, or with losses or ties by the Bears, Cardinals and Seahawks on Saturday along with a win or tie by the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.

After making the post-season three straight times to start the Norv Turner era, the Chargers are faced with the prospects of missing out on the post-season for a second straight season. To keep their slim playoff hopes alive, the Chargers need to win and get help from the Buffalo Bills, who host the Denver Broncos, and Kansas City Chiefs, who host the Oakland Raiders.
