Are you in a fantasy football championship game with Roy Helu as one of your running backs? Then today is a bad day for you! Merry Christmas! Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu is inactive, while Tim Hightower is down for the season and Ryan Torain is very much out of favor. This means that rookie running back Evan Royster will be carrying the load for the Redskins today in their game against the Minnesota Vikings.
If you're a fan of college football, you might be familiar with Royster. He had three consecutive 1,000 yard rushing seasons with the Penn State Nittany Lions. Despite that high level of production, Royster had his least productive season in his senior year, last year. He fell to the sixth round of the NFL draft and started the season fourth on the depth chart, but now finds himself in a role where he will get the bulk of the carries.
Royster has 17 carries for 83 yards coming into this game.
