Dec 24, 2011 - The Minnesota Vikings may end up tied with the Indianapolis Colts for the NFL's worst record in the 2011 season, but their loss in Week 16 may be far worse: Adrian Peterson has left Minnesota's game against the Washington Redskins with what appears to be a serious knee injury.
That injury, shown here in animated GIF form, is not for the faint of heart.

After going down and staying down, Peterson was carted to the locker room for further examination, and is obviously exceedingly unlikely to return to the field for the Vikings.
Peterson had already been dealing with an ankle injury in 2011; that kept him out of three games from Week 12 to Week 14. But this knee injury looks like the sort of gruesome one that might keep Peterson out for both the rest of the 2011 season and part of the Vikings' 2012 campaign as well.

I hate to say it
But this is the kind of injury that ends careers. The sad part was that the Redskins were cheering the injury.
I'm a proud fan of the Minnesota Twins and Dallas Cowboys!
