With a win, the Detroit Lions can clinch their first playoff berth since 1999, and they're playing like they have everything on the line, exactly how they should. The San Diego Chargers need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive as the Oakland Raiders, their Week 17 opponent clinched an overtime victory against the Kansas City Chiefs earlier on Christmas Eve.
After the first half, the Lions are eviscerating the Chargers in every aspect, winning 24-0 on the heels on a phenomenal first half from quarterback Matthew Stafford. He's leaned on his two most productive receivers, Calvin Johnson and tight end Brandon Pettigrew, to throw for 260 yards and three touchdowns already. Here's video of his third touchdown, a pretty back shoulder pass to Megatron:
The Chargers have just 17 rushing yards from their backfield, a number that has to increase if they want to come back and keep their playoff hopes alive.
