Tom Brady's Injury Has Him Probable For Bills-Patriots Game

The final injury report lists Tom Brady as probable for the New England Patriots this weekend against the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots QB missed Wednesday's practice for non-injury related reasons, was listed as limited in Thursday's practice and now comes in at probable for the game.

Clearly, Brady will play. I don't think there was ever a real question about that (though any news about Brady makes Boston go insane).

The Patriots are stilli playing for something -- home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. If they win, they won't leave home unless they make it to the Super Bowl. A Patriots loss combined with a Ravens loss (or a Ravens loss and Steelers loss) and they'll lose home field advantage falling to the No. 2 seed.

The Patriots have given every indication they'll be playing their starters this week -- Logan Mankins and Sebastian Vollmer have been ruled out with injury -- so it Brady should be playing the entire game if it's close.

Tom Brady Limited On Patriots Injury Report

The New England Patriots officially listed Tom Brady as a limited participant in Thursday's practice with an injury to his left shoulder. Reports said Brady wouldn't practice on Thursday but by that afternoon he was out there in a limited capacity.

Previous reports say that Brady took a hit last weekend against the Miami Dolphins which required an MRI. The results said he was good to go but concerns increased when he missed practice on Wednesday. Officially, Brady was listed as missing Wednesday's practice for non-injury related reasons. But by Thursday he was limited with the shoulder injury.

However much he practices, Brady is still expected to play in Week 17. The Patriots are looking to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs and, while reports have acknowledged the injury, no one is suggesting Brady won't play this weekend.

Tom Brady Does Practice On Thursday, Despite Reports

The intrigue surrounding Tom Brady continues. The New England Patriots QB missed practice on Wednesday and the team said it was not injury related. Shortly after that reports surfaced that Brady actually suffered a shoulder injury last weekend against Miami and he went through an MRI, which indicated he was "all set".

On Thursday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Brady would not practice on Thursday.

And later on Thursday....Brady was practicing and "working with the team." This according to Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald.

Either way, Brady is still expected to play in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills, especially after the news that he is practicing. Brady had a day off for non-injury related reasons last week as well.

The team will release the official practice report later on Thursday afternoon.

The Patriots are still looking to wrap up home field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win against Buffalo on Sunday. Check out SB Nation's Pats Pulpit for more on Brady's injury and the Patriots in the playoffs.

Tom Brady Injury: Patriots QB Won't Practice But Expected To Play

The New England Patriots will line up for Thursday's practice without Tom Brady for the second consecutive day. The Patriots QB took a hard hit to his left shoulder in last Saturday's game against the Miami Dolphins and had an MRI to check up on it.

Everything checked out on the MRI, according to Tom Curran of, but Brady will miss his second consecutive day of practice. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots believe Brady will be available on Sunday when they play the Buffalo Bills.

The injury is to Brady's non-throwing shoulder which means it may not affect his throwing motion significantly. He was seen in the locker room after Saturday's game favoring that shoulder.

The Patriots have clinched the AFC East but they're looking to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs so they still have something to play for in Week 17.

We've seen a number of starting quarterbacks go down this year but Brady isn't one of them. Check out SB Nation's Pats Pulpit for more on Brady's injury.
