Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte left Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with an apparent leg injury following a first-quarter carry. Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson appeared to hit Forte's right knee. Forte was able to leave the game under his own power, although walking with a limp.
The early indication from league sources is that Forte appears to have suffered an MCL sprain, reports Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times. Further testing will be required to know the extent of his injury and any timeline for his return.
Forte had picked up 12 yards on five carries before leaving Sunday's game against the chiefs, which the Bears eventually lost, 10-3.
Forte is currently sitting at 997 rushing yards on the season and has been one of Chicago's main offensive threats. This could potentially be a big loss for the Bears.
