The Detroit Lions offense has finally begun clicking in the second half of their Sunday Night Football matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Following a field goal and a touchdown in the third quarter, the Lions have come within a touchdown and now trail the Saints by a score of 24-17.
Matthew Stafford led a huge Lions drive into the end zone, taking Detroit 92 yards down the field on nine plays. The final play of the drive came with 0:43 left in the third quarter, as he tossed a nine-yard pass to Maurice Morris, who dived into the end zone for a touchdown.
Stafford so far is 22-for-26 with 291 passing yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. His counterpart, Drew Brees, is 17-for-24 with 259 passing yards and two touchdowns, and has so far been quiet in the second half.
