Ravens-Chargers, Not Patriots-Broncos, Will Remain Week 15 Sunday Night Game

Although some rumblings said the NFL wanted the Patriots and Broncos game on Dec. 18 to be flexed to Sunday night, that won't be happening. The Ravens and Chargers will remain on NBC Sunday night for Week 15.

Patriots-Broncos Will Not Be Flexed To Sunday Night In Week 15

Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos are scheduled to host Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon on CBS in Week 15 but NBC was hoping to move that game to Sunday Night Football as part of the league's flex scheduling.

CBS, who originally had the Patriots-Broncos game and understands the TV ratings with Tebow and Brady playing, wanted to keep the game on Sunday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. (ET).

The two TV networks were reportedly fighting to get the game over the past few days and the league usually announces any flex schedule changes on Tuesdays, nearly two weeks before the game.

After much debate, the league has confirmed that the Patriots-Broncos game will not be flexed to Sunday night and it will remain at 4:15 p.m. (ET) on Sunday. Instead, the originally scheduled Baltimore Ravens vs. San Diego Chargers game will remain on NBC's Sunday Night Football.

The Ravens draw good ratings and the Chargers could still be mathematically alive for the playoffs at that point so it's not like that game is a bad consolation prize but Patriots-Broncos should draw huge ratings.

NBC, CBS Both Want Patriots-Broncos Game On Dec. 18

The Patriots and Broncos play on Dec. 18, a game scheduled to be on CBS. But NBC and the NFL want to move the game, which features Tim Tebow vs. Tom Brady, to Sunday night.
