The Pittsburgh Steelers began the second quarter with a 7-3 lead and were driving down the football field. The drive was cut short however, when wide receiver Hines Ward fumbled the football and it was recovered by Cleveland Browns defensive back Sheldon Brown. Just three plays later however, Colt McCoy was picked off by safety Troy Polamalu.
Completing a weird sting of events, two plays later Steelers tight end Heath Miller fumbled the football giving it right back to the Browns. The Browns couldn't do much with the football however, moving just a bit down the football field before punting the ball away. The next drive for the Steelers could prove to be a game changing drive, with Ben Roethlisberger going down with an ankle injury. The injury looked serious and he's doubtful to return. Not only did Roethlisberger go down, center Maurkice Pouncey also went down with a leg injury, as well as defensive lineman Ziggy Hood.
Back up quarterback Charlie Batch took over before halftime, but the offense failed to really move the football. Batch is the only other active quarterback ont he Steelers roster, and he'll lead the Steelers out after halftime.
