Johnny Jolly Denied Bond, Faces Two Codeine Possession Charges

Green Bay Packers DE Johnny Jolly won't be out of jail until at least April 20 when his next court appearance is scheduled. A Houston judge denied bond for Jolly, who was arrested on Friday, March 26, for possession of codeine. It was his second arrest for drug possession, the first occurring in 2008.

Jolly avoided jail time for the first incident when he accepted pretrial diversion, which consisted of community service. However, the prosecution will now bring the 2008 charge against Jolly in addition to his current one.

The NFL suspended Jolly from the league for the entire 2010 season, but one now must wonder how this arrest will affect his chances at reinstatement. Even if he avoids jail time, a longer suspension is still possible given the NFL's stance on how players should conduct themselves off the field.

Head over to Acme Packing Company for more on the arrest and the Packers' reaction.
