Kenny Britt is off the hook -- at least for felony charges. The Tennessee Titans wide receiver was arrested in April for reportedl trying to elude a police officer in a short car chase.
According to the Tennessean, the felony charge of eluding a police officer has been dropped.
"The case was sent for review to make sure there was nothing more to it," DeFazio said. "In this situation nobody was hurt, and since he had no prior criminal record the matter was sent down to Bayonne Municipal Court."
Britt now faces three lesser charges but not the felony.
This is good news for Britt and his legal issues but it remains to be seen how it will affect his standing with the Titans. The arrest occurred during the NFL lockout so we haven't yet seen the Titans full reaction to what transpired. The NFL has previously said they would be enforcing the personal conduct policy during the lockout but what really matters is how discipline will be handled in the new CBA (if we ever get one).

If you're just getting your day started then you may not have heard Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt was arrested on Tuesday following a short police chase. Charges include evading police and lying to an officer. This isn't the first time Titans fans have awaken to find out Britt has been arrested, or involved in something he probably shouldn't have been.
SB Nation's Music City Miracles sums it up:
These stupid little incidents keep piling up against him, and he has to be pretty close to face some type of punishment from the league. It really is a shame because he has a chance to be one of the best receivers in the game, but it is stuff like this, that we have seen time and time again with him, that keep him from reaching that potential.
On the football field, the Titans have an excellent, young running back in Chris Johnson and an excellent, young receiver in Kenny Britt. They're an attractive organization. Unfortunately, Britt's latest arrest puts his future in doubt. He could be suspended, depending on how the league reacts, or how the team reacts.
This is clearly a pattern for Britt, which is what's troubling.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt is in trouble with the law after leading police on a chase through Bayonne, New Jersey. According to reports, police attempted to stop Britt around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, but he took off, speeding away from police before stopping a few miles later. Britt stopped suddenly and abandoned his car, walking away casually with the female who was with him at the time.
But Britt wasn't done, and tried to run away once again as police questioned him at the scene. By the time it was all over, Britt was charged with three counts, including a drug charge. The report comes from TMZ and has been verified by Jay Glazer on Twitter.
Bayonne PD says after a few miles, Kenny just stopped and he and his passenger attempted to walk away from the car. During questioning, officers say the passenger tried to bolt on foot -- FAIL. Officers arrested him for alleged possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
The NFL is currently in a lockout so it's unclear what, if any, affect this has on Britt's status with the Titans in the future.
