NFL Odds Have Packers Favored Over Saints In Week 1

Is it too early for odds on Week 1 of the 2011 NFL season?

The NFL schedule was just released so I figure now is as good as time as any to check in on the updated odds.

One site has the Green Bay Packers as a 3.5 point favorite over the New Orleans Saints in the first game of the 2011 NFL season. (Insert obligatory "If we have an NFL season" line here.) The Packers are the defending Super Bowl champions so this line makes sense to me.

The Kansas City Chiefs are seven point favorites over the Buffalo Bills which represents the largest line of the week followed closely by the San Diego Chargers who are 6.5 point favorites over the Brett Favre-less Minnesota Vikings.

My pick for game of the week is the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. NFL odds have the Ravens as three-point home favorites in that game. It seems these games are always very close to three points either way sounds about right.

It's still incredibly early to be putting these odds out there because we've yet to have the 2011 NFL draft or free agency. Rosters will change by the time the season gets here.
