UFL's Twitter Draft Will Swipe Undrafted Free Agents From NFL, For Now At Least

The UFL is holding a player draft on the evening of May 2, beginning at 8 pm ET. Picks will be announced via the Twitter handles of coaches and the league's commissioner, Michael Huyghue. Technically, any player on the NFL's undrafted free agents list is available for selection, as those players can't even be contacted by NFL teams right now due to the lockout.

This is actually kind of a win-win, as NFL hopefuls will still be able to work out with UFL teams and perhaps put something on film for when the NFL does get back to business. And for those who do stick around with the UFL, why not get an early start?

Jerry Glanville's Hartford Colonials have the first pick. While I'm not sure if there's exactly a mock draft for this kind of thing, Atlanta Falcons fans will be floored if he doesn't pick Mark Herzlich. Dennis Green, Marty Schottenheimer, Jim Fassel and Joe Moglia will also announce their picks tonight.
