So Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt has had a rough last couple of weeks. First, it was getting arrested for resisting arrest, among other violations and then it was a warrant being put out for him in Nashville. You can imagine what the headlines have been saying about Britt, who is racking up the off-the-field mentions.
His response? Announce retirement via Facebook.
Retiring from the NFL. F*** You Goddell.
I wonder what kind of retirement this is.
Is it legitimate? Britt is seriously going to retire after just two seasons in the NFL? He's one of the most talented receivers in the league and is still very young so, despite the off-the-field incidents, his future earnings are still very high.
Or is this like the other kind of retirement. The James Harrison 'I'm really mad at Goodell for fining me, so I'll threaten retirement' type of retirement.
Or will he claim his Twitter Facebook account was hacked?
Stay tuned. I have a feeling Britt is channeling his inner-James Harrison here.
[Update: Shockingly, Britt isn't seriously retiring. He later wrote on Facebook: "Change of HEart.. My family is always here for me. I made mistakes and i am sorry i am going to change and become a better person and mentor for all my young fans.. I will accept any penalty like a man.."
