Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow made a trip to The Daily Show on Comedy Central this week to promote his new book, "Through My Eyes", and had a pretty good exchange with host Jon Stewart talking about whether college athletes should be paid.
Tebow: It's a tough situation. I can look on both sides. I can look on the NCAA's side and see how hard it is. They have ot manage so many athletes and make sure they're not doing anything illegal. At the same time, you're having a lot of athletes that work extremely hard, make millions and millions for universities, and they're just struggling to go out to Outback to get something to eat so I can see on both sides. I think something fair would be so that athletes can get just a little bit more so they can go to dinner, afford a scooter to drive around campus, little things like that.
Stewart: Really, a scooter?
Tebow: Really, in college, they help so much.
Stewart: I like the idea they want to go to Outback to have dinner and drive scooters. What are they, Dennis the Menace?
