Among the 2011 NFL free agents teams will be clamoring after is Matt Hasselbeck by virtue of him being a serviceable quarterback in a league starved of able signal callers. Hasselbeck has stayed largely mum about his potential destinations however, leaving many to guess.
The Arizona Cardinals would seem to make sense, considering last year's circus. Tennessee is often mentioned as a destination as well. There, he could serve as a mentor to Jake Locker, the Titans' No. 8 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. The same could be said of Minnesota, where the Vikings will be grooming Christian Ponder. The Seahawks are still a possibility, though Seattle may be ready to move on.
No matter where he lands, Hasselbeck doesn't project much better than a one-year stopgap for any team. He hasn't played a full season since 2007, which was also the last time he had a positive TD:INT ratio. Hasselbeck will be 36 next season. Bodies only last so long in the NFL.
