Mason Crosby Stays With Packers On Five-Year Deal, According To Report

The Green Bay Packers will enter the 2011-12 season defending their Super Bowl title and they'll do it with the assurance that kicker Mason Crosby will be around for a while. According to the latest reports, Crosby will be returning to Green Bay on a five-year deal.

Crosby was one of the best kickers coming out of college after the Packers made him a sixth round pick in the 2007 draft. He quickly established himself in the NFL nailing a 52-yarder in his very first pre-season game (which was actually the longest field goal ever in Heinz Field).

Last year he hit 19-of-28 field goals which was slightly below his 75 percent career average.

Crosby can't officially sign his contract until Friday night at 6:00 p.m. (ET) when full free agency opens and players are permitted to sign.
