Melvin Bullitt Re-Signed To Three-Year Colts Deal, According To Report
Free agent safety Melvin Bullitt has agreed to re-sign with the Indianapolis Colts, according to reports by ESPN's John Clayton. The deal reportedly covers three-years.
Bullitt first signed with the Colts in 2007 as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M. After receiving limited playing time his rookie year, the 26-year old bursted out during the 2008 season by making three game-saving interceptions to secure late victories for the team.
In the years since, Bullitt has consistently proven to be a reliable counter to the oft-injured Bob Sanders. The four-year veteran took on a larger leadership role with the team in 2010, serving as co-captain of the Colts special teams.
The re-signing of Bullitt became a chief priority for Indianapolis after the team lost out on Eric Weddle to the Chargers. Bullitt also drew interest from the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals.
