Wide receiver Plaxico Burress is talking with the enemy, depending on which team one is a fan of. On Friday, Burress talked with officials from his former team, the New York Giants. But Burress is also interested in discussing a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, reports ESPN New York.
Burress spent 90 minutes talking with Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, general manager Jerry Reese and owner John Mara. Burress and Coughlin did not have the best of relationships during the receiver's time with the team. But Reese indicated that their interest in signing Burress is real.
Burress does plan on talking with the Eagles, but he is also interested in the St. Louis Rams and his first NFL team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Eagles did sign Nnamdi Asomugha, and the Giants could use a weapon on the field like Burress to test the start cornerback.
At 34, Burress appears ready to get back into the NFL and play as if he never left it.
