Though he is the returning NFL rushing yards leader, Houston Texans running back Arian Foster certainly isn't being paid like one. The Texans re-signed the exclusive right free agent on Sunday, reports Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com. As an exclusive rights free agent, Foster will receive $525,000, a $45,000 raise under the new collective bargaining agreement.
Foster led the NFL with 1,616 rushing yards in his second year, but what makes it all the more impressive is that he did it on a torn meniscus. To avoid losing his job, no less. If he can keep up his production through 2012 (he's a restricted free agent after this season), Foster will be in line to pick up a big-money deal in free agency.
The Texans also officially announced the signings of Mike Brisiel, Rashad Butler, Matt Leinart, Damione Lewis and Kasey Studdard.
