Aqib Talib 'Can Expect' A Four-Game Suspension, According To Report

The long arm of the NFL's law will catch up with Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib after a long offseason. Citing three separate sources, Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole reports that Talib should expect at least a four-game suspension for his latest run-in with the law. In May, Talib was indicted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon in a March incident.

However, at least one of Cole's sources believes there is a chance the suspension could go for more than four games:

"There’s probably enough doubt in this case that he won’t go more than four games, but it could be more," a source said. "It’s like he says to guys, ‘I don’t want to see you back here.’  "

Talib met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell earlier in the week to discuss this incident, but this was the fourth time in Talib's soon-to-be four-year career that he has had an off-the-field incident. While the Buccaneers are still providing him a spot on the roster, Goodell has to enforce the personal conduct policy.

Even after this reported suspension, Talib will still need to stand trial in March 2012 for the assault with a deadly weapon charge.
