NFL Preseason Schedule: Saturday Night Missing Jets Vs. Giants Due To Hurricane Irene

Stay connected with SB Nation

The NFL preseason's third week is typically the best of the preseason games as players have usually worked themselves back into game shape and the starters are given quite a few reps before taking it easy the week before the regular season begins. That has been the case thus far this week, too, and shouldn't change for the nine games on tap for Saturday night's NFL preseason schedule.

There were originally 10 games scheduled for Saturday night, but the threat of Hurricane Irene postponed a game in New York, meaning that the scheduled meeting featuring the Jets vs. Giants won't take place until Monday night.

Instead of tuning in for the Battle of New York, most football fans planning to stay in on Friday night will be subject to a game between the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions. Not because that's what everyone will have their satellite feed tuned to, but rather because the Patriots vs. Lions game is scheduled to be nationally broadcast on CBS.

For a full list of the remaining games on Saturday night, as well as the channels they will be shown on, be sure to check out the individual articles in this StoryStream.
