The Chiefs agreed to terms with former Ravens FB Le'Ron McClain on a one-year contract.
The Kansas City Chiefs are developing a nice offense in Kansas City. After adding WRs Jonathan Baldwin and Steve Breaston this offseason, the Chiefs have once again dabbled in free agency, according to the KC Star, to acquire FB Le'Ron McClain, who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2007.
McClain joins a backfield that now includes RBs Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster. McClain's contract is for just one year so it'll be interesting if he sticks around Jones, who is in the final year of his deal, leaves.
A two-time Pro Bowler, McClain has been known to ask for more carries. He's been a feature back one time in his career rushing for over 900 yards with the Ravens in 2008.
This is the second former Raven the Chiefs have acquired in the last week after picking up NT Kelly Gregg. The Chiefs and Ravens will meet in the preseason so those two will have a homecoming in a few weeks.
