VIDEO: Bubba Smith's Moses Hightower, The Original Football Cop

Baltimore Colts All-Pro and Michigan State College Football Hall of Famer Bubba Smith died Wednesday, leaving behind football memories for quite a few fanbases. Even if you're not a Colts or Spartans fan, though, you can still appreciate Smith's work as gentle giant Moses Hightower, which appeared in almost every Police Academy movie.

Think Peyton and Eli Manning picked up a thing or two?

After getting his acting start in Miller Lite commercials, Smith appeared on shows ranging from Wonder Woman to Married ... With Children. He looks to have kept up an interest in performing through his later years, appearing in Baltimore-area commercials among other things.

The Hightower character will go down as his most-enduring off-field legacy for most. It's a testament to how well Smith played the role that his character, which had so few lines, is among Police Academy's easiest to recall for those of us who haven't seen those movies in years.
