The Cincinnati Bengals officially signed former Tennessee Titans TE Bo Scaife on Friday. As Cincy Jungle points out, we now have to emphasize "officially" after free agent S Donte Whitner indicated he was headed to the Bengals on Thursday only to later announce he was going to the San Francisco 49ers.
So the Bengals pick up a tight end in Scaife who has been in the league for six years. He had a career high six touchdown receptions with the Titans and had career highs of 58 receptions and 561 yards in the 2008 season. For his career, he has 25 receptions and 2,383 yards.
Hobson points out that the Bengals like many attributes in Scaife that they had in Reggie Kelly, providing "leadership for" a young group. Scaife visited the Bengals earlier this week with reports that the St. Louis Rams were also interested.
